Tim Thomas

Tim Thomas is the Plaid Cymru candidate for the Bridgend constituency in the Welsh National Election to be held on the 5th May 2011. He can be contacted via e-mail TimThomas@plaidcymru.org .

Tim Thomas was born in Cardiff in 1981. He lives locally in Brackla, Bridgend with his wife Sara and they had their first child, Alys Haf in March 2010.

Tim has a Masters degree from Cardiff University and has had wide experience in both the public and private sector. He is currently a Local Government Research Officer, but managed his family's garden centre business for almost 10 years in nearby Pencoed.

As a trade unionist with Unison, Tim has extensive campaigning activity on issues such as health and higher education. He served as Vice-Chair of Cymru X, Plaid’s youth wing during their campaign against top-up fees which later was supported by Plaid Cymru in Government. Most recently, Tim was a co-ordinator for the Yes for Wales campaign in Bridgend, organising local volunteers to deliver a resounding “Yes” vote in the constituency.

Tim Thomas is a keen Cardiff City fan and Ambassador for the club, a member of CND Cymru and a former reservist for the Royal Navy.
