It’s time to make Anglesey proud again


Plaid Cymru launches 2013 campaign

Plaid Cymru has today launched its campaign for the island-wide local government elections which take place next May.

Launching the campaign at the Anglesey Show, under the slogan “Making Anglesey Proud Again”, Ieuan Wyn Jones AM said that only Plaid can provide a strong team to give the right leadership to Anglesey.  He said the party would focus on bringing stability and transparency to the Council and creating opportunities for our young people to stay and work on the island.

Plaid Cymru Assembly Member for Ynys Môn, Ieuan Wyn Jones said; 

“It’s time to have a council which puts the people of Anglesey first – a council of which we can be proud because it delivers to the very best of its ability, particularly during these tough times.  Plaid’s ready to lead, we're make Anglesey proud again.

“Our Plaid Cymru team, and our campaign, will be rooted in the local communities of Ynys Môn – reflecting the values of the people of the island, as well as their ambition for a stronger economy and resilient communities.

“As part of this commitment, we’re inviting people across the island to join with us and play a part in the campaign - from becoming a candidate in next year’s election to helping in their own communities - we want this to be a campaign that everyone on the island can be a part of.

Leader of the Plaid group on the island, Bob Parry added;

“As well as bringing stability and transparency to the Council, we will focus on creating opportunities for our young people. The future of Anglesey - economically, socially and culturally - depends on our ability to make sure our young people have opportunities to stay and work on the island.  

“We have to create a strong future for the people of the island. Together, with the help of the people of the Anglesey, Plaid is ready to ensure that the people have an ambitious council that they can once again be proud.”
