21/06/2022    Calls for Carwyn Jones to clarify position on energy devolution

Carwyn Jones has been urged to clarify exactly what energy powers he is calling to be devolved to Wales.  Ieuan Wyn Jones AM, Plaid Cymru’s spokesperson for constitutional issues, said that the First Minister and Labour needed to make a firm commitment to pushing for the devolution of all energy, water and crown estates or else their calls would appear weak.

21/06/2022    Labour’s return to casino economics risks creating a financial time-bomb for Wales

A return to discredited private finance initiatives (PFI) would be a ticking time-bomb for the Welsh economy according to a Plaid Cymru AM.  Leanne Wood AM said she was astonished that when questioned on the matter, by her colleague Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM, Labour government Ministers refused to rule out privatising education and transport schemes.

21/06/2022    Plaid leader reacts to Welsh government Financial Statement

Plaid Cymru’s leader has reacted to the financial statement issued by the First Minister of Wales by claiming it did not address the economic needs of Wales.  Ieuan Wyn Jones AM said that while Plaid Cymru do welcome Labour's shift on elements of tax devolution, there is some way to go before Labour matches Alex Salmond's ambitions for Scotland and the danger of Carwyn Jones’s approach was that Wales will be left behind.

21/06/2022    Plaid AM’s anger and disappointment at Labour’s TB eradication programme U-Turn

Rural Wales and Welsh farming communities have been let down by the Labour government’s decision to put the TB eradication programme on hold.  That was the message today from Plaid Cymru rural affairs spokesperson, Llyr Huws Gruffydd, who said that the government’s decision to delay the programme would cause huge uncertainty and anger for farmers and would impact greatly on the public purse.
