Wrexham needs a strong voice in the Welsh Assembly and that's why Plaid councillor Marc Jones is bidding to become the next AM for the area.

Marc is married to a nurse and they have two sons who attend Plas Coch and Morgan Llwyd schools.

He lives in Wrexham and is an experienced journalist, having worked with the Leader, Daily Post and as a producer with the BBC. In recent years he has worked as a freelance journalist and a press officer prior to becoming a councillor for the Whitegate ward in 2008. In his first year as a councillor he set up the allotments at Pentre Gwyn, which provides 54 plots for the local community. He has also campaigned for more affordable housing to meet the high demand from local people and has supported an innovative joint venture by Wrexham Council and the Welsh Government to provide 400 new homes in the borough.

He is a long-standing Wrexham FC fan and a more recent convert to the Crusaders.
