Post: Head of Strategic Communications, Plaid Cymru
Pay Band Scale: To be discussed
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (the role will require you to work outside office hours and in other parts of Wales occasionally)
Location: Ty Gwynfor, Anson Court, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff Bay.
Duration: Fixed Term contract

This rewarding role, working for Plaid Cymru, will bring you into contact with the committed and passionate members of the party and help you play a part in transforming our nation.

Working to the party's Chief Executive, you’ll ensure effective communication within the party and successful engagement with the people of Wales. You will be responsible for the party's strategic communications plan and you will identify opportunities as well as devise creative communication materials, which will be vital to the party's electoral success. Your work will focus primarily on internal and outreach communications and your responsibilities will include managing and developing the party’s newspapers, website and social media presence; planning Plaid’s political broadcasts and the presentation of the party at major events; and identifying opportunities to promote the party and to increase membership and supporters.

You will need excellent communication, organisational and IT skills and experience of developing and managing projects within a busy organisation. The post holder will need to be able to develop constructive working relationships with key individuals and groups within the party and with external organisations.

The post holder will have at least 5 years experience of working in a Press, Public Affairs, Marketing or other communications role; a proven record of developing multi-media platforms, and proficiency in using and developing websites and social media pages; and project and event management skills.
