Darren Price

Darren Price is the Plaid Cymru candidate for Gower constituency in the Welsh National Election to be held on the 5th May 2011. He can be contacted via e-mail at DarrenPrice@plaidcymru.org .

Darren Price was born in Carmarthen and raised in Gorslas in the Gwendraeth Valley. He attended Ysgol Gyfun Maes yr Yrfa and Coleg Sir Gar before going on to study at the University of Wales, Swansea. Darren graduated in 2001 with a B.A (Hons) in Business Economics and later in 2003 with an M.Sc (Econ) in Business Economics.

Darren is a Plaid Cymru Councillor in the City and County of Swansea. He was first elected in June 2004, aged 24, and currently chairs the Council’s Performance and Finance Overview and Scrutiny Board, as well as sitting on the Council’s Child and Family, and Partnership Overview and Scrutiny Boards.

Darren is employed by Plaid Cymru Assembly Member Dr. Dai Lloyd in Swansea.

He was previously Vice-Chair of the Plaid Cymru Federation of Students and Campaigns Officer for Cymru X, the party youth wing. Darren has stood for Plaid in the Gower constituency in the 2007 National Assembly election and the 2010 General election. In his spare time he enjoys playing rugby, golf and fishing.
