Chris Franks

Chris Franks is the number 2 regional candidate on the South Wales Central list. ChrisFranks@plaidcymru.org 

 

Chris Franks was elected in 2007 for Plaid Cymru South Wales Central. Chris served as a County Councillor representing Dinas Powys from 1981 to 2008 and was the Leader of the Plaid Cymru group on the Vale of Glamorgan County Council.

He has also been a member of the Local Health Board, Barry Regeneration Board and is a school governor of Ysgol Pen y Garth.
In the National Assembly he is Plaid's Chief Whip, an Assembly Commissioner and a Member of the Finance Committee and Standards Committee.

Chris was born in Cardiff and lives in Dinas Powys. He is married with 3 children.

Chris is committed to promote Cardiff as an international capital and to regenerate the Valleys. The promotion of public transport is a priority especially linking the Valleys with Cardiff. His special interests include working to enhance the countryside to encourage wild life and to improve habitats for endangered species.
